Notifications and Inbox

November 15th, 2007

Q4 Press uses a combination of email alerts and an internal notification system to allow all users to easily communicate with one another. Notifications are sent out whenever there is action required in the system. Typically this includes when feedback is requested through a broadcast or when a reviewer or approver provides feedback to an author. When this occurs the appropriate person receives a message similar to this one:

Email Notification

Once the person clicks on the link they are then brought to the messages inside their Inbox in Q4 Press, which looks like this:

Inbox

This internal message includes the personal note from either the author or those submitting changes. It also provides a snippet of the dashboard information that pertains to the document being worked on. This includes who is involved in the document at this point and what their status is – have they viewed it? Provided comments? Approved? Etc. It also lets the author know if there is unhandled feedback awaiting their review. From this screen it’s very simple to access the document. If you are the author of the release you are able to “Edit the Press Release”, if you are a reviewer or approver you are able to “Review the Press Release” and provide comments back to the author.
