When working with Word documents there is a formatting trick that is sometimes used to mimic what looks like a table. Instead of creating a table and putting content into two separate cells you can use tabs to push words to the right or left and give the content the look of being in a table.

The problem with this is when imported into Q4 Press the tabs are lost due to the word document being converted to HTML which doesn’t have any way to display a “tab”.

Here is an example: ( the arrows indicate a tab)

If this kind of formatting is in the Word doc that you upload, or that you copy and paste into Q4 Press the result will look like this:

Bob Smith Sandy Smith

Company xyz Company xyz

(123) 123-1234 (123) 123-1234

To achieve the same formatting you’ll need to use a table in your word document. So it will look like this:

By using a table rather than tabs all of your formatting in your Word document will be maintained when you upload it to Q4 Press or when you copy and paste.
